The Backstage Beauties Social Club Membership Community Guidelines Welcome to The Backstage Beauties Social Club. Our club exists to create additional opportunities for connection, creativity and community amongst members of Boutique Burlesque. By becoming a member, you are joining a community built on kindness, inclusion and mutual respect. Membership Membership is open to current and accepted former Boutique Burlesque students. Membership includes:
• Early access to social club events and bookings
• Access to member-exclusive events where applicable
• Discounted pricing on selected events
• Opportunities to contribute ideas for future activities
• Membership of a welcoming and supportive community Membership is activated upon payment of the joining fee.
Event Bookings Membership does not include attendance at events unless otherwise stated. Events operate on a pay-as-you-go basis. Members are responsible for:
• Booking their place before advertised closing dates
• Paying event costs by the required deadline
• Reviewing event details before booking
Some events may have:
• Limited places
• Minimum numbers
• Booking cut-off dates
• Cancellation deadlines determined by external venues
Membership Fees The joining fee contributes to:
• Establishing and maintaining the social club
• Administrative costs
• Supporting future member experiences
• Building a community event fund for larger activities Membership fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law.
Community Expectations We ask all members to contribute to a community where everyone feels welcome, respected and included. Members agree to:
• Treat others with kindness and respect
• Welcome new members
• Celebrate diversity and inclusivity
• Communicate respectfully
• Respect personal boundaries
• Help create a fun, positive and low-pressure environment Bullying, harassment, discrimination or behaviour that negatively impacts the safety or enjoyment of others will not be tolerated.
Communication To ensure fairness and consistency:
• Official club communication will occur through approved club channels.
• Volunteers coordinate events but are not expected to provide individual support or respond to private messages regarding club matters.
• Members are asked to direct questions through the designated public communication channels whenever possible.
Volunteers The Backstage Beauties committee are volunteers generously contributing their time to help coordinate events. Members are asked to:
• Treat volunteers respectfully.
• Understand that volunteers are not available outside their role
. • Appreciate that planning responsibilities are shared and undertaken in addition to work and personal commitments.
Photography & Social Media Photos may be taken during social events and shared through Boutique Burlesque or Backstage Beauties promotional channels. Members who prefer not to appear in photographs are encouraged to let the event lead know before or during the event.
Cancellations & Changes The Backstage Beauties Social Club is a community membership rather than an event subscription. While we aim to offer regular monthly activities, event frequency, format and availability may vary depending on volunteer capacity, member interest and venue availability. Occasionally events may need to change due to venue availability, weather, minimum numbers or unforeseen circumstances. Where possible, members will be notified as early as practicable. Refunds for cancelled events will be managed in accordance with the event's booking conditions.
Membership Conduct Membership may be suspended or cancelled where a member:
• Repeatedly behaves in a way that is disrespectful or unsafe.
• Repeatedly disregards community expectations.
• Acts in a manner inconsistent with the values of Boutique Burlesque. These decisions will be made at the discretion of Boutique Burlesque.
Our Commitment The Backstage Beauties Social Club is designed to be a place where adults can connect, laugh, try new things and build meaningful friendships through shared experiences.
